WIC Online Shopping Update and New Projects Overview

To advance WIC online shopping, the Center for Nutrition & Health Impact (CNHI) recently awarded 6 projects spanning 7 WIC State agencies to plan, design, and implement WIC online shopping. Online shopping in WIC is an investment in the health and well-being of America’s women, infants, and children. WIC online shopping modernizes the program by leveraging existing industry technology practices to increase program efficiency and reduce burden. CNHI will hold a 1-hour webinar to share WIC online shopping updates and showcase the newly awarded projects. Attendees will hear from the new project teams about their WIC online shopping plans.

Webinar and Moderated Panel: Considerations for WIC Online Shopping Internet Vendor Management

The development of procedures for internet vendor management is important to WIC State agencies implementing WIC online shopping. The Center for Nutrition & Health Impact will hold this webinar to highlight suggested practices and considerations featured in the upcoming WICShop+ resource, Considerations for WIC Online Shopping Internet Vendor Management. CNHI also will moderate a discussion with a panel of WIC vendor managers who implemented WIC online shopping. This event is beneficial to WIC State agencies and vendors interested in implementing WIC online shopping solutions. 

Join us for a 1-hour combined webinar and moderated panel to gain ideas for management of this new vendor type and insights from previous WIC online shopping implementation projects.

The South Dakota and Rosebud Sioux Tribe WIC Programs Online Shopping Project is implementing WIC online shopping in a regional grocery store chain, Buche Foods. This project focuses on providing online shopping in rural and remote areas.

Question & Answer Session with the Nevada WIC Program Online Shopping Project

The Nevada WIC Online Shopping Project is exploring integration of an online shopping system using the WICShopper app. This solution offers an option for vendors interested in WIC online shopping that may not have the technology to do so, while leveraging an existing platform. With vendor partners Save Mart and the Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), this project aims to provide a simple online shopping experience.

Midwest States WIC Online Ordering Pilot: Question and Answer Session

The Midwest States WIC Online Ordering Pilot (MSWOOP) partnership includes Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska WIC State agencies. Their project aims to develop and test an online shopping and payment solution with regional grocery vendor Hy-Vee and WIC EBT (eWIC) processor FIS/CDP.

WIC Online Shopping Resource Roundup: Fundamentals of WIC Online Shopping Technology

WIC online shopping projects have specific technology needs that play an important role in implementing WIC online shopping. The Center for Nutrition & Health Impact and technology subject matter experts held a 1-hour combined webinar and Q&A session to showcase technology resources created to support WIC online shopping projects. This webinar outlined WIC online shopping solutions, highlighted technical functions needed to implement WIC online shopping, and discussed insights from previous WIC online shopping implementation projects. This webinar is beneficial to WIC State agencies, WIC-authorized vendors, e-Commerce providers, and EBT processors interested in collaborating to implement WIC online shopping solutions.
